A Band

 

The A Band are currently in the 1st  Section in the West of England  Region under the baton of Kevin Smith the band performs concerts regularly in the Verwood Hub Theatre, we play at many other events over the course of the year and can be contacted through this website if you are interested in hiring us.  We are very lucky in owning our Band Hall which has good facilities and parking and is also available to be hired.

Rehearsals are at the Band Hall on Monday and Thursday evenings from 8pm to 10pm and anyone wishing to listen or meet us is more than welcome to come and introduce themselves.

 

B Band

 

Verwood have a B band which was formed in June 2009.  This has grown in confidence  during the  last 2 years and is now under the baton of  James Haigh

Rehearsals are at the Band Hall on Wednesday evenings from 8pm to 10pm and anyone wishing to listen or meet us is more than welcome to come and introduce themselves new players are always welcome.

 

Training Band

 

The band has had a training band since the early 1960’s. All ages are welcome. The training band is conducted by Ian Harris, the principal euphonium player in the A Band.  Ian’s enthusiasm and patience encourages the talents within the training band and several members have already progressed to the B Band.  The training band performs regularly at local events.  Rehearsals are in the band hall on Monday evening 6.45pm-7.45pm.

 

 

 

 

April 21st concert at the Hub in Verwood

 

Verwood Concert Brass is a Dorset band near Ringwood with easy access from Bournemouth, Southampton & Portsmouth.

Now available a 10 piece ensemble for smaller functions. You can hire any of  the bands for your functions but if you just want a small group we can offer a 10 piece ensemble.

Verwood Concert Brass featured on the Aled Jones Good Morning Sunday show

 

We were delighted that a piece by Verwood Concert Brass was played by Aled Jones on the 'Brassed Off' section of his show.

The piece played was Londonderry Air from our 'Bells across the meadow' and for the avoidance of doubt the "funky solo" is played on a trombone not a Euphonium, as Aled was unsure.

 

We are hoping that we may be featured in future weeks so watch this space.
