Verwood Concert Brass

Verwood Concert Brass is a Dorset Band based in Verwood which is very easily accessible, being 25 miles from Southampton and 12 miles from Bournemouth.

Verwood is proud to boast three thriving bands, Verwood A,   Verwood B and a Training Band.  All three bands are run by one committee and players will play as guests in any band if required to do so.

Are You Looking For a Band?

Now available a 10-12 piece ENSEMBLE for smaller functions. You can hire any of the Bands for your events but if you just want a small group we can offer this as well.

A Band

The A Band are currently in the 1st Section in the West of England Region under the baton of Kevin Smith. The band performs concerts regularly in the Verwood Hub Theatre, we play at many other events over the course of the year and can be contacted through this website if you are interested in hiring us. We are very lucky in owning our Band Hall which has good facilities and parking and is also available to be hired.

Rehearsals are at the Band Hall in Moorlands Road, Verwood, BH31 7PD, on Monday and Thursday evenings from 8pm to 10pm and anyone wishing to listen or meet us is more than welcome to come and introduce themselves.

B Band

Verwood have a B Band which was formed in June 2009. This has grown in confidence during the last 3 years and is now under the baton of Barry Harkcom.

Rehearsals are at the Band Hall on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and anyone wishing to listen or meet us is more than welcome to come and introduce themselves. New players are always welcome.

Training Band

The Band has had a Training Band since the early 1960’s. All ages are welcome. The Training Band is conducted by Robin Lock, a solo cornet player in the A Band. Robin’s enthusiasm and patience encourages the talents within the Training Band and several members have already progressed to the B and A Bands. The Training Band performs regularly at local events. Rehearsals are in the Band Hall on Monday evenings from 6.45pm-7.45pm.
